Boom every hour with special announcements - 1:00 pm Activities begin in Family Fun Zone Area. Games, Inflatables, Petting Zoo, Rides, Food Vendors. Music will be played over event wide PA. Star, Hot, and Q93 will have contests going on in their areas.
- 1:00 pm MasterCraft/American Boat Center Rail Jam Demo
- 2:00 pm Karaoke Café Community Stage begins and will have performances and contests throughout the day
- 2:00 pm Navy Freedom Band Performance on barge at Vol Landing steps
- 3:00 pm MasterCraft/American Boat Center Rail Jam Demo on West end of Neyland Dr.
- 5:00 pm MasterCraft/American Boat Center Rail Jam Demo on West end of Neyland Dr.
- 5:00 pm Navy Freedom Band Performance on barge at Vol Landing steps

What’s New?
- Navy Week
- Knoxville has been selected as one of 22 cities to host a Navy Week (Sept. 1-7). In honor of this event, the Boomsday Festival will host the Navy’s “Accelerate Your Life Experience Tour” at the west end of Neyland Drive. Also, enjoy performances by the Navy’s “Freedom” band. At 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., “Freedom” will play from a special barge floating in front of the Volunteer Landing steps.
- Mastercraft/American Boat Center Rail Jam Demos
- Neyland Drive will be transformed into a man-made 30-foot-wide and 200-foot long water track where professional wake boarders will skim across the water attempting jumps and turns at 18-22 miles per hour. The Rail-Jams are scheduled for 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
- Journal Broadcast Group Contests:
- Star 102.1 Tent: “Guitar Hero” contests all day and hear the latest news in fitness from the RUSH Fitness Centers. Register to win a gift card to American Laser Center.
- HOT 104.5 Tent: Play the latest video games from EA Sports and register to win a Sanyo Xacti Digital Camcorder or an 8GB iPod Nano from Mountain Dew Green Label.
- Q 93 Tent: Join ATC Roofs and register to win a Jamaican Cruise.
- Family Fun Zone
- Featuring inflatables, games, petting zoo and pony rides for a nominal charge. Opens at 1 p.m.
- Karaoke Café Community Stage
- Opens at 2 p.m. with performances and contests throughout the day.
- There will be free valet bike parking at Boomsday this year!
- It's like a coat check for bikes - all you have to do is show up and we will take care of your bike and you can enjoy the event. We will eliminate your

First Aid: Stations will be located on Volunteer Landing on the east side of the east tower, underneath the Henley Street Bridge on the north side of Neyland and on the north side of Neyland Drive directly across from the Bridgeview Grill
Persons with Disabilities: American Disability Association viewing areas will be located on the L-3 Open Air Deck of the City/County Building. ADA accessible restrooms will be available at the special needs location.
Broadcast: WBIR-TV/Channel 10 will air its live “2009 Chrysler Jeep Boomsday Festival” special from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 6 and rebroadcast it from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 7 on 10News2. Listen to Star 102.1 radio for the soundtrack simulcast, as well as updates throughout the day.
