About Boomsday

Since 1987, Boomsday has been a successful one-day free event that has brought hundreds of thousands of people to Knoxville’s Volunteer Landing and Neyland Drive for what has become known as the nation’s largest Labor Day weekend fireworks show. In addition to watching the jaw-dropping fireworks, attendees also hear the show choreographed to patriotic and contemporary music with non-obtrusive promotional messages simulcast on radio. Over its history, Boomsday has evolved into Knoxville’s signature event, bringing more than 325,000 visitors to Knoxville’s riverfront for food, a kids’ play area, live music, and of course the biggest boom in the nation for one highly anticipated night each year.
